A local native, born in Long Beach, into an Air force family that lived in or traveled through more than half of the United States and all over the world, including Japan, Okinawa, Hawaii, Germany, Canada, Italy, Israel, Switzerland, just to name a few.

“I graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska, and lived there during the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake which lasted 4 ½ minutes and had a Richter scale reading of 9.6. There I saw solid flat land turn into waves like an ocean. Since all telephone lines were down, I helped my Dad, who was one of 3 amateur ham radio operators in Anchorage, get the news out to the world and kept families in touch. |
My Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology came from California State University at Dominguez Hills, which had the reputation for the best Psychology department in the whole state. Then I got my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryokan College of Los Angeles, a private school specializing in psychology. |
I’m board certified in EEG BioNeurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America; Board Certified in Forensics Psychology; and have been trained in Herbology, Nutrition, and Naturopathy. In addition I am certified in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). |
In conjunction with this practice, I have served on the L.A. Superior Court Mediation Panel and have facilitated mediations for limited and general jurisdiction civil cases, including personal injury torts and breach of contract |
Originally inspired to be a healing practitioner because of my father, I was always trying to find a way to make him happy. There were times when he would get very sad with bouts of depression. I loved to see him happy and laughing. His life was an inspiration to me. When he was 17, he joined the last U.S. Calvary where all he had to his name was a horse, a blanket and a dollar a month. A self-made man, he graduated from UCLA in Child Psychology. A famous paper he wrote was entitled “Why Children Should Eat Dessert First”. That taught me to “think outside the box”. Never settle for mediocre thinking. His living example of self-motivation and achievement and devotion to my learning and happiness inspired me to open my mind and continue to achieve all that is possible. He taught me to never be afraid to ask questions and to learn un-ceasingly. He encouraged his four daughters to go to college at a time when women weren’t supposed to. |
I’m in this field of “Holistic Counseling” because I believe I can assist people to have control over their own destiny and happiness, and to heal themselves physically, spiritually and emotionally. |
I am grateful I did so because I’ve experienced enormous success in helping people “get their smile back”. |
